TOEFL iBT
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL®) measures the ability of nonnative English speakers to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings.
The TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT) tests all four of the language skills that are important for effective communication:
speaking
listening
reading and
writing.
The test helps students demonstrate that they have the English skills needed for success.
The emphasis of the TOEFL course offered at Lincoln is on these four language skills, and on using English to communicate. To achieve academic success abroad, students must be able to use all four language skills together. Our course will try to achieve this by an integrated combination of questions, tasks, tests and mini-tests. Together, these will build the confidence needed to communicate in the new environment students will enter as they are attend a college or university abroad.
The course features practice exercises, test-taking strategies, pre-tests and post-tests to diagnose needs and assess mastery, and complete practice tests carried out in our laboratory.
Toefl iBT course lasts 4 months, 3 times a week.
